Day 1

Airport (CMB) – Anuradhapura

Welcome to Sri Lanka, the “Pearl of the Indian Ocean”! On arrival at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport, meet your private Dream Lanka Tours chauffeur-guide and be driven to Anuradhapura (Approx 3 Hours Drive). Depending on arrival time rest of the day free for leisure activities and rest at the hotel or you will be head for one of the best-preserved ruins of ancient Ceylon – the UNESCO World Heritage City of Anuradhapura, known as one of the ancient cities in Sri Lanka’s cultural triangle. You will be able to explore the tallest brick built stupas of the ancient world. Ruwanweli Saya, Abhayagiri, and Jetawana Dagaba constituted the central edifices of the monasteries – Mahavihara, Abhayagiri Vihara and Jetavanaramaya (world’s tallest stupa) respectively. Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi – the sacred tree shrine of the Maha Viharaya, planted in the 3rd Century BC still retains its vitality and receives veneration of the Buddhist world all year around. Visit the Thuparama Dagoba, the historical Stupa built by King Devanampiya Tissa. Day 2

Anuradhapura – Polonnaruwa/Habarana

After early breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Polonnaruwa (Approx 3 Hour Drive). This is the second ancient capital of the country and was the first political center of the country in the ninth century BC. Irrigation systems in Polonnaruwa were far superior to Anuradhapura Age, and even now use the same irrigation system to the farmers in and around Polonnaruwa. You will be able to see the ruins of Royal Palace of King Parakramabahu, Audience Hall, the statue of King Parakramabahu, Watadage, the Gal Potha, Parakrama Samudraya (Sea of Parakrama) which was built by King Parakramabahu and this reservoir covers an area of 5940 acres (22.6 Sq Km) (If any entrance fees to sites or any other fees not included in the package).

Day 3

Polonnaruwa/Habarana – Sigiriya/Damdulla

After early breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Dambulla (Approx 1 1/2 Hours Drive) via Sigiriya.
Sigiriya Rock Fortress is one of the ancient world wonders and also believes as the 8th world wonder. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Sigiriya Rock was once an ancient Castle used both as a palace and a fortress and was created by the great King Kasyapa. The magnificent rock fortress of Sigiriya is visible for miles from all directions and dominates the surrounding plain. The Sigiriya Complex consists of the central rock, which arises abruptly 200 meters above the surrounding. The beautiful Sigiriya contains a gallery of fifth-century paintings and canvas finished with landscaped gardens that are certainly matchless.
Dambulla Rock temple was built by King Walagambahu during the 1st Century B.C. Dambulla is a UNESCO world heritage site. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding and the paintings are done on the ceiling. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of god and goddess. In addition, the city has the largest rose quartz mountain range in entire Asia and the ironwood forest known as Namal Uyana. Day 4

Sigiriya/Damdulla – Kandy

After early breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Kandy (approx 2 1/2 Hours Drive) via Matale.
Matale is yet another bounty of nature’s abundance with scattered mountain ranges decorated with blankets of cascading water and captivating landscapes of fertile greenery. Riverston situated approximately 30KM from the town of Matale, a beautiful mountain range, which is part of the Knuckles Mountain. Described as the ‘mini world’s end’, the Riverston peak with a sheer drop of 300 meters, offers a grand view of the central hills, the Knuckles mountain range and beautifully terraced paddy fields in the Thelgama valley. Another attraction is Pitawala Pathana close to Riverston, yet another picturesque site of mountains, waterfalls and natural pools.
Visit Spice Garden Visit a spice garden to see different spices for which Sri Lanka is famous for. Clients will be able to see different spices and how some of these spices are grown and processed.
After reaching Hill capital of Sri Lanka Kandy you will visit one of the world heritage as well as a sacred place for the Buddhists all over the world; namely the Temple of Tooth Relic known to the Sri Lankan’s as Sri Dalada Maligawa. Next Peradeniya Botanical Gardens will depend on how much time left if we can’t make day 2 will visit day 3 on the way to Nuwara Eliya. Peradeniya Botanical Gardens is a paradise for nature lovers. This beautiful flower Eden is restored with over 300 different varieties of orchids, other spices, medicinal plants and Palm trees. Every year more than 1.2 million people are enchanted by the beauty of these 147-acre flower gardens. Day 5

Kandy – Nuwara Eliya

After early breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Nuwara Eliya (Approx 2 1/2 Hours Drive), fondly called Little England in Sri Lanka. Full of rustic colonial beauty and grace, this hilly refuge is one of the dreamiest settings on the island. En route witness the picturesque mountain ranges and breathtaking waterfalls. In Nuwara Eliya, you will visit the main attractions of the town which include the golf course, trout streams, Victoria Park, and boating ride on Lake Gregory. Nuwara Eliya – Horton Plains (Worlds End) – Nuwara Eliya

After early breakfast at the hotel and proceed to Horton Plains (Round trip Approx 2 1/2 Hrs Drive). You will be taken on an exclusive tour to Horton Plains which is home to a stunning list of birds and beasts. The perfect retreat for nature lovers, Horton Plains offers an unparalleled look at some of the most exotic endemic, migratory and resident birds in Sri Lanka. Day 7

Nuwara Eliya –Ella

After early breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Tissa/Yala (Approx 2 Hours Drive) via Hagala Gardens.
Hakgala Botanical Garden is one of the three botanical gardens in Sri Lana. The other two being Peradeniya Botanical Garden and Henarathgoda Botanical Garden. It is the second largest garden in Sri Lanka. The garden is believed to be the highest set of botanical gardens in the world. Legends connect Hakgala to The Ramayana and the King Ravana. In modern times it came into importance in 1861 when the land was grown with Cinchona to make quinine, a counter to Malaria.
Visit some of the popular tourist sites in Ella. This includes the Little Adam’s Peak, tea factory, and the grand Ravana Ella Falls. Day 8

Ella – Udawalawe

After early breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Udawalawe (Approx 2 1/4 Hours drive). This National Park is the third most visited park in all of Sri Lanka. Herds of elephants, buffalo’s, deer, and leopards are what you are destined to see on your day tour of the Udawalawe Jeep Safari. The park is located at the center of the Udawalawe reservoir, which allows for marshes, grasslands, and forests. Udawalawe Park owns 12 species of amphibians, 33 species of reptiles, 43 types of mammals, 21 kinds of fish and 184 varieties of birds (If any entrance fees to sites or any other fees not included in the package).

Day 9

Udawalawe – Yala/Tissamaharama

After early breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Tissa/Yala (Approx 1 1/2 Hours Drive).
Yala National Park is one of Sri Lanka’s premier Eco-tourism destinations. The park is renowned for the variety of ecosystem species like leopards, elephants, sloth bears, wild water buffalo, Sri Lankan kraits, Painted-lip lizard, crocodiles and several freshwater fish. You can easily spot grey hornbill, jungle fowl, Crimson-fronted Barbet and wood pigeon in Yala National Park. Day 10

Yala/Tissamaharama – Mirissa

After early breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Mirissa/Matara (Approx 1 1/2 Hours Drive).
Mirissa is known among tourists for its beautiful beach that is relaxed and picturesque. Coast off Mirissa it is ideal for whale watching and you do not even have to travel far from the Mirissa coast for whale sightings. After going about 6 or 7 Km away from the coastal line it is easier to watch these marine giants gliding in the aquatic waters. The best time period to watch whales in Mirissa is from December to April because sightings are more regular during this time period. The sandy beach is the ideal locations for all kind of water sports for adventure lovers as well as for leisure lovers. The geographical location is said to be perfect for surfing, snorkeling and diving activities. But leisurely fishing session or just relaxing under the tropical sun is also possible if that what you wish (If any entrance fees to sites or any other fees not included in the package).

Day 11

Mirissa/Matara

After early breakfast at the hotel, proceed to Sea Safari tour or Galle Fort tour and Habaraduwa sea turtle hatchery.
The first visitors who decided to stay and make it their home as Galle were the Portuguese and legend has it on arriving the sailors heard a cockerel on a rock (cockerel is Galo in Portuguese) and as a result named this new port Galo. After the Portuguese, the Dutch took over and then the British in 1796, who remained in power until Sri Lanka gained independence in February 1948. In 1988 the Fort became a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site and is now one of the countries most desirable places for real estate. Dutch Museum: For a peep into life in the days of the Dutch East India Company, look into this small museum at 31 Leynbaan Street.
Sea turtle hatchery situated in Habaraduwa is mostly admired by nature lovers and both local and foreign tourists. It is a nonprofitable organization located as well as a popular tourist attraction in Sri Lanka. Habaraduwa is 5 km from the Galle – Matara Road. In order to conserve turtles and other marine species, the small hatchery was firstly started in 1986. Sri Lankan beaches are reckoned as a favorable breeding spot of the sea turtles Bentota, Induruwa, Kosgoda, Ahungalle, Unawatuna, and Balapitiya are few of the most preferred nesting areas for Sea turtles (If any entrance fees to sites or any other fees not included in the package).

Day 12

Mirissa/Matara – Bentota/Beruwala

After early breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Bentota (Approx 1 1/2 Hours drive), the city of the golden beaches welcomes you for unwinding by its sandy shores and swimming in the clear waters. Enjoy a boat ride along River Madu that takes you on a scenic tour around beautiful islets, forested with lush mangroves.
Visit the Turtle Hatchery – a prime turtle nesting site which was opened by the Wildlife Protection Society in 1981. You will get to see many newborn turtle are fed well and when 2-4 days old, are released into the sea, proceed to Bentota, rest of the evening is at your leisure (If any entrance fees to sites or any other fees not included in the package).

Bentota/Beruwala – Colombo

After early breakfast at the hotel, check out and proceed to Colombo (Approx 2 Hours drive), take a city tour to explore Colombo’s colonial legacies including the Independence Square, Gangarama Temple of Colombo, the mile-long promenade of Galle Face Green and Colombo’s National Museum. Stop for taking pictures when driving by the former British Administrative Center. Colombo – Airport (CMB)
