TOUR DESCRIPTION
This travel package is for those seeking a true Muslim-friendly holiday in Sri Lanka. Journey includes following cities Kandy, Dambulla, Sigiriya and Nuwara Eliya, with unique experiences hand-picked for the Muslim travelers. Sri Lanka is a diverse destination with an amazing range of experiences for such a small island. The recorded history of the Island dates back 2500 years when an exiled prince from north India drifted into the shores of Sri Lanka to establish the first known civilization here. For a small island, Sri Lanka can boast of a diverse landscape of golden beaches, rolling hills, forests and lush tea plantations.
Kandy is Sri Lanka’s second biggest city and the capital of the central province. The busy town is situated in a valley at an elevation of 600 meters, inside a wide loop of the Mahaweli River and is surrounded by hills covered with tropical vegetation. Home to the Sri Dalada Maligawa the beautiful temple that houses the tooth relic of Lord Buddha. Kandy is also a popular stop during July/August when the annual Esala Perehera (holy festival) takes to the streets of the city.
Nuwara Eliya is one of the coldest area in Sri Lanka, also known as “The Little England” due to its colonial British cottages and lush hill trees.

Day 1
Airport (CMB) – Dambulla
After visit Pinnawala we continue to Dambulla Rock temple, built by King Walagambahu during the 1st Century B.C. Dambulla is a UNESCO world heritage site. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding and the paintings are done on the ceiling. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of god and goddess. In addition, the city has the largest rose quartz mountain range in the entire Asia and the ironwood forest known as Namal Uyana. Now, the big quartz rose mountain is millions of years old and it encircled by the ancient ironwood forest trees. Also, the grand rock fortress of Sigiriya is another major attraction, which is worth checking. (Entrance fees to sites not included in the package).

Dambulla – Polonnaruwa – Minneriya – Dambulla
Minneriya spreading over 8800 hectares, this is a sanctuary for elephants, if you’re up for serious rumble in the jungle, then you need to visit Minneriya. This National park is home to herds of deer and ample birdlife, but its spotlight remains between swaying trunks & flapping ears. Here you can marvel at the elephants feeding in their natural habitat. With over 300 elephants gathered, the park has rightfully earned its reputation as a magnet for wildlife enthusiasts across the globe, rest of the day is at your leisure. May to October is the best period to visit Minneriya National Park in view of the famous Gathering of the wild elephants (If any entrance fees to sites not included in the package).

Day 4
Dambulla – Matale – Kandy
Kandy is Sri Lanka’s hill capital, stronghold of the Sinhala Kings, is our most beautiful town. Before check-in we visit to Meera Makam Mosque for prayers (Meera Makam Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in Sri Lanka’s hill city Kandy. The land for the mosque was gifted to a Muslim Courtier who served the King of Kandy, Kirti Sri Rajasingha and was completed in 1864 by a society of Muslims living in the city) and also meet with the local community & other places of religious interest to other faiths, which reveals the religious harmony in the country. Rest of the evening is at your leisure or we can schedule a Sri Lanka Kandy Cultural Show Evening you will visit the Cultural show (If any entrance fees to sites not included in the package).

Day 5
Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
We proceed to Nuwara Eliya, fondly called Little England in Sri Lanka. Full of rustic colonial beauty and grace, this hilly refuge is one of the dreamiest settings on the island. En route witness the picturesque mountain ranges and breathtaking waterfalls. You can also visit a working tea factory where the slow-growing tea bushes of this highland region produce some of the world’s finest Orange Pekoe tea. In Nuwara Eliya visit Al-Kabeer Grand Mosque which is a famous mosque in Nuwara Eliya for prayers and also meet with the local community. Check in at the hotel and rest of the day leisure at hotel (Entrance fees to sites not included in the package).
